Crosman C11
Looking like something much more than it really is, the Crosman C11 is a pistol that has very rugged looks. Powered by CO2, this is a gun that is a semi-automatic, reliable and perfect for practice or training purposes. For air pistols available on the market, the C11 is very reasonably priced for the looks and features that are available.Features of the C11
For being so small, the Crosman C11 weighs a solid 1.4 pounds. This gives a feeling that you aren't holding a BB gun, but one that incorporates a much higher caliber. The C11 is 8.5 inches long so you know that it's not just any handgun. Unfortunately, the pistol is made of a synthetic material and would look and feel much nicer if it was wood and steel. Of course, you wouldn't be able to buy it for about $50.00 if that was the case.
Both the front and rear sights are fixed and it has a smooth barrel. The mechanism on the Crosman C11 is a semi-automatic repeater to give the gun some character when being shot. It has a good grip so you can concentrate on the target rather than trying to find some comfort in holding the gun.
Stepping up to a CO2 from an air pump pistol will be noticed once the first round of .177 caliber BB's are shot. The removable magazine holds enough for 18 shots. To replace the CO2, the grips slide back and the CO2 Powerlets can easily be removed and reloaded. Velocity can reach up to 480 fps (feet per second) and below the barrel is an accessory rail.
Accessories
Crosman recommends using Copperhead BBs and for a 6,000 count bottle it'll cost you about $10.00 to $11.00; you can do the math, that's a lot of fun in one little package. The cost of the CO2 will vary based on the quantity and if you are buying cartridges (8 grams per unit) or Powerlets (12 grams per unit). Keep in mind, the better the fitting cartridge or Powerlet the more power you will have when shooting your Crosman C11.
Spare clips can be purchased so you can shoot and reload without losing too much daylight. You can get a two-pack for roughly $16.00. You should also invest in, if you don't have any already, Pellgun oil which runs about $3.00. The oil will keep every moving part operating smoothly.
Guns unfortunately have a good guy/bad guy reputation and this is not due to the gun but due to the shooter. It is the person who allows irresponsible acts to occur. Please be responsible and take a firearm safety class so you know how to properly handle any kind of weapon whether it's a BB gun or a Colt 45.
Before heading out for an afternoon of shooting practice, don't forget to take your shooting glasses (about $5.00 if you need to pick up an extra pair), extra ammo, CO2 and targets. If you are just starting out with your Crosman C11, for about $100.00 you can improve your coordination, your balance and relieve some stress on paper targets.
